The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) is governed by a thirteen (13) member board, which provides direction and supervises the Authority’s activities.
The organization is headed by a Director-General, who is appointed by the President in accordance with Article 195 of the Constitution. The Director-General holds office on the terms and conditions specified in the letter of appointment and is responsible for the day-to-day administration and efficient running of the Authority as well as the implementation of its programs. The organization’s direction is mapped out in its strategic plan, which is renewed every four years.
