Governance and Leadership

The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) is governed by a thirteen (13) member board, which provides direction and supervises the Authority’s activities.

The organization is headed by a Director-General, who is appointed by the President in accordance with Article 195 of the Constitution. The Director-General holds office on the terms and conditions specified in the letter of appointment and is responsible for the day-to-day administration and efficient running of the Authority as well as the implementation of its programs.
